The offer

Six ways we shape and keep a garden

Each is drawn and built the way the ground actually needs it — read down the plan like a notebook, one spread at a time.

  1. A colour-coded landscape design plan on grid paper, credited to Jessica Alalawi, Landscape Design.

    Plan 01 · Design

    Design & engineering transformations

Full landscape design and outdoor renovation, drawn to scale and engineered to hold — planting plans, grading, hardscaping and the structures that tie a space together.

    • Scaled, colour-coded planting plans
    • Grading, drainage and hardscaping
    • Built by the designer who drew it
  2. Nas Alalawi up in the canopy of a tree, pruning branches beside a pale blue house.

    Plan 02 · Care

    Master Gardener cleanup & pruning

Seasonal cleanup and structural pruning by a Certified Master Gardener — cut for the health and shape of the plant, not just the look of a tidy yard.

    • Structural and seasonal pruning
    • Bed cleanup and renewal
    • Plant-health-first decisions
  3. A stone paver patio set carefully around a mature tree, bounded by a new cedar fence.

    Plan 03 · Stewardship

    Legacy property grounds management

Long-term care for established and mature grounds — protecting the trees, stone and planting that took decades to settle, and renewing them a season at a time.

    • Mature-tree and stone protection
    • Year-round, seasonal schedules
    • Renewal without starting over
  4. A front-of-property planting bed with native grasses and shrubs set into dark mulch behind a brick edge.

    Plan 04 · Community

    HOA grounds maintenance & design

Shared and common grounds kept to a standard a community can rely on — design refreshes and dependable, recurring maintenance for HOAs across the Eastside.

    • Common-area design refreshes
    • Dependable recurring maintenance
    • One accountable point of contact
  5. An electric pickup loaded with cleared brush and salvaged plant material at the kerb of a suburban home.

    Plan 05 · Ecology

    Plant resale, reuse & foraging

A native-plant nursery and salvage practice — rescued and reused plants, foraging walks and plant identification, so what grows here stays here and finds a second home.

    • Native-plant nursery & salvage
    • Rescued and reused plantings
    • Foraging walks and plant ID
  6. A tiered boulder retaining wall set into dark mulch with river-rock drainage and new planting along a drive.

    Plan 06 · Partnership

Field partnership for contractors & designers

A reliable field crew for contractors and designers — demolition, site prep, planting, hardscaping and ongoing maintenance, delivered to your plan and your schedule.

    • Demo, site prep and hardscaping
    • Planting to your design
    • Ongoing maintenance support

Our story

A family practice, drawn and built by the same hands

ECO Seattle is a family-owned practice. Jessica draws the plans, works with clients and writes the journal; Nas carries the engineering and the build. The design and the construction never change hands, so the garden that gets built is the one that was drawn.

We are a mission-driven, WMBE practice — BIPOC, LGBTQ and women-owned, and bilingual in English and Arabic. We build sustainably because the places we work are worth keeping, and we treat every project like our own.

Indian heritage, European travels, California warmth, Pacific Northwest softness — four worlds, held in one garden.

The work

Stone, planting and the craft between them

A few spreads from recent gardens across the Eastside. Ask on the call and we will walk you through more of whatever yours needs.

A tiered boulder retaining wall set into dark mulch with a river-rock drainage course and fresh planting.
A boulder wall set to hold a slope, drained with river rock and planted to soften the stone.
A freshly laid stone paver patio curving around a preserved mature tree, framed by new cedar fencing.
Pavers laid around a tree we chose to keep, rather than a tree we chose to remove.
A front-garden bed of native grasses and shrubs in dark mulch, edged in brick against a mature specimen tree.
A front bed replanted in natives — lower water, more habitat, and better every season.
